Energy Analyst
Job Function Summary
Leads commercial and strategic approach for maximizing value and effectively managing risks associated with PGE’s power supply portfolio. Develops structured proposals for deals involving any combination of energy (electric, gas and services) that provide mid- to long-term strategies for fueling power plants and effectively managing power supply portfolio. Develops models and market strategies to assess economic value and price risks inherent in complex transactions and negotiations across the enterprise.

Energy/Risk Management Products and Strategies Under guidance, performs specific tasks related to the design, market and implementation of energy and risk management products and strategies to reduce costs, optimize assets and reduce risks associated with PGE's resource portfolio and wholesale market activities as assigned.
New Energy Resources Contracting Under guidance, conducts research and analysis that support contact negotiations, competitive bidding, procurement activities and related transactions.
Market Analysis Under general guidance, researches changing market dynamics or fundamental drivers that could impact price or availability of fuel and related assets and provides data and analysis.
Outbound Marketing May perform discreet activities and analyses to support outbound marketing activities; may conduct analysis of wholesale energy markets; may conduct environmental scanning to
recommend opportunities for bilateral partnerships, contracts and asset transactions.
External Relations May perform support activities related to or participate in industry forums and conferences and regulatory proceedings.
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Certifications
Education Requires a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, computer science, mathematics, engineering or other related field or equivalent experience. An MBA or MS in finance, economics or related financial discipline preferred.
Experience Typically two or fewer years in economics, trading, financial analysis or related field.

Compensation Range:
$68,850.00 - $114,750.00
Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
