Energy Manager

Position Overview: We are seeking a proactive and experienced Energy Manager to support energy efficiency initiatives across our portfolio of commercial office, residential, and hospitality properties. The Energy Manager will play a crucial role in optimizing energy consumption, reducing costs, and implementing sustainable practices that align with our commitment to environmental stewardship.
Responsibilities:
- Energy Data & Analysis:
- Track energy consumption metrics against portfolio reduction targets.
- Identify potential opportunities for energy reduction utilizing tools such as Watchwire, ESPM, and excel.
- Implementation of Efficiency Projects:
- Support the design and implementation of energy efficiency projects, including lighting upgrades, HVAC optimization, and control projects.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure projects are executed on time and within budget.
- Monitoring and Reporting:
- Refine existing systems for ongoing monitoring of energy consumption and performance metrics and suggest additional solutions to allow for timely response to potential anomalies and energy issues.
- Prepare regular reports on energy usage, cost savings, and environmental impact for stakeholders and regulatory compliance.
- Regulatory Compliance and Certification:
- Stay abreast of energy regulations, incentives, and certification programs (e.g., LEED, ENERGY STAR).
- Ensure properties meet all energy-related compliance requirements and pursue certifications where applicable.
- Tenant Engagement and Education:
- Collaborate with tenants to promote energy-efficient practices and encourage participation in energy-saving initiatives.
- Develop educational materials and conduct training sessions to raise awareness and foster a culture of sustainability.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in preparing annual energy budgets and forecasts.
- Recommend investments in energy-efficient technologies and improvements based on financial analysis and ROI calculations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Proven experience (2-5 years) in energy management or related roles within the real estate sector.
- Strong understanding of energy systems, HVAC, lighting, and building automation systems.
- Familiarity with energy modeling software and tools for data analysis.
- Excellent project management skills with a track record of successfully implementing energy efficiency projects.
- Effective communicator with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Certification such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or LEED Accredited Professional is a plus.
