POSITION SUMMARY

Manomet Conservation Sciences seeks a team player interested in joining a small but dynamic, fast-paced team and a career in environmental nonprofit fundraising. The Engagement and Events Manager is responsible for supporting Manomet’s fundraising events and engagement with donors and prospective donors and building and enhancing donor relationships. This position is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing various initiatives to enhance relationships and increase support for Manomet. The Engagement and Events Manager is based in Massachusetts with the possibility of a hybrid schedule.


The ideal candidate has meticulous event planning, project management, customer service and organizational skills, the ability to think creatively and critically, and is highly collaborative. Attendance at frequent evening and weekend events as well as ability and willingness to travel to event locations is required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Events Management

  • Oversee all aspects of event planning and management for in-person outreach and engagement, donor cultivation, and donor stewardship events.
  • Work closely with the Communications Department to develop and execute an event promotion strategy and collateral.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Development, developing and managing event budgets and invitation lists.
  • Work with the Director of Development to ensure each event has an appropriate follow-up plan to cultivate prospects and steward existing donors.
  • Build and maintain relationships with event sponsors and organizational partners.
  • Work collaboratively with staff and various departments to implement Manomet’s strategic priorities for community engagement in Massachusetts, other places where Manomet works and in key cities in the United States.


External Affairs, Donor Cultivation, and Stewardship

  • Work with the Director of Development to assist with cultivating and stewarding existing donors and alumni and identifying new donors and fundraising opportunities for the organization.
  • Assist with donor acknowledgment and stewardship for general donors.
  • With the Communications Department, create compelling programming and print/digital content for donors to highlight the impact of their gift on Manomet’s work, including external events, webinars, donor “in the field” events, and special stewardship campaign materials.
  • In conjunction with Communications and Director of Development assist in scheduling and management of President and senior staff speaking engagements.
  • In conjunction with the Director of Development, manage and oversee Manomet’s Corporate Giving Program, including prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of existing donors.


Other Duties

  • As needed, assist with recording donor interactions into Raiser’s Edge database; printing, assembling, and mailing donor communications; and responding to donor inquiries.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Development.


PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Minimum of 3-6 years of professional experience with a bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Experience developing, planning, and coordinating events
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and an ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge/Raiser’s Edge NXT (or another CRM)
  • Demonstrated high proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google applications (Docs, Sheets, and Forms)
  • Possess a strict sense of confidentiality, discretion, and respect for information privacy
  • Experience in environmental, conservation or sustainability fields preferred
  • Commitment to Manomet’s mission to use science and collaboration to improve the health of flyways, coastal ecosystems, and working lands and seas
  • Must have reliable method of transportation and valid driver’s license
  • Must successfully pass a background check.


WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Occasional night and weekend work to support events and donor engagement activities
  • Ability and willingness to travel to various locations in the US as necessary to complete job duties. Travel may also be international. Travel is reimbursed. (If applicable)
  • Normal office business environment.
  • Close work (paperwork, visual examination).
  • Occasional walking up and down stairs, standing, and bending.
  • Ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
