This position involves working as a member of the teaching faculty and requires thorough planning of teaching units using the Understanding by Design model.
The successful candidate should make full use of the 75-minute teaching period, which occurs on a rotating basis every other day.
The position requires teaching six periods of coursework and close collaboration with colleagues.
The candidate should also post assignments to the CANVAS learning management system and maintain regular contact with parents about their student's progress.
Furthermore, the position offers various extra-curricular opportunities.
The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in English or education, with a master's preferred.
At least two years of high school instructional experience is preferred.
The candidate should be able to work collaboratively, be flexible in assigned courses to teach within the department, and support the mission of the school.
Additionally, the candidate must have a State of Florida teacher certification or eligibility to obtain one within two years.
The successful candidate must also be able to pass a criminal background check, fulfill the requirements of the E-Verify program, and pass a drug screen.
