Base pay range

$20.00/hr - $20.00/hr
The Technical Lead contributes to the success of the Entertainment Department by managing all audio and lighting installations and technical operations, management and training of technical staff, partnering with park Audio/Visual Contractor, implementing and maintaining department safety policies and protocols and assisting with installation, operation, and strike efforts for seasonal productions while providing outstanding customer service to employees and guests. Management retains the discretion to change or add to the duties of this position at any time.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Create lighting designs and sound designs for seasonal shows
  • Facilitates installation of venue lights and sound for seasonal shows
  • Manages and facilitates technical equipment needs for seasonal shows
  • Provides technical support for all stages, venues, parades, and mascots as needed
  • Serves as technical liaison and/or producer for all contracted seasonal shows
  • Assists with hiring, supervising, training, and evaluating technicians as assigned
  • Manages seasonal show technicians
  • Liaison with Full Spectrum as it pertains to audio visual needs and maintenance of equipment
  • Schedules and serves as Lead Technician during operational seasons
  • Serves as Entertainment Duty Manager (600) as needed
  • Serves as Department Safety representative and safety trainer for department equipment
  • Installs and maintains safety kits and fire extinguishers in all venues and ensures that all necessary personnel are trained relative to their use
  • Ensures all performers, technicians, ushers, stage managers and staff are trained relative to safety requirements
  • Ensure all SDS and IFR certificates are procured for each venue
  • Oversee all facilities, equipment, and inventory associated with entertainment department as assigned
  • Oversees monthly check-up on all Bobcats
  • Works with the Production Supervisor to schedule and assist with all required safety walks per season with Stone Mountain Police Department and Park Safety
  • Assists with seasonal scenic buildouts, installations, and strikes
  • Assists with Auditions as assigned
  • Act as a liaison and support for entertainers, ensuring their concerns are met, their working conditions are satisfactory, and the quality of their performance meets the goals of the department and company
  • Regularly audit performances; perform one-on-one evaluations as assigned
  • Participate in and contribute to the development and orchestration of annual entertainment programming
  • Conduct show/product/company research as assigned
  • Provide administrative support as assigned
  • Oversee and/or lead projects as assigned
  • Produce individual shows as assigned
  • Manages production budgets as assigned
  • Attends weekly production meetings
  • Follows all safety standards and regulations required
  • All other duties as assigned


Supervisory Responsibilities

These are carried out in accordance with applicable safety policies and laws.

  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Ensuring staff adherence to all safety procedures and proper grooming standards


Skills & Qualifications

  • Must read, write, and speak the English language (knowledge of other languages a plus)
  • Must be able to work as a stage/house manager or technician
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Must have working knowledge of AutoCad, Vectorworks, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and the Internet
  • Must have knowledge of theatrical audio and lighting equipment.

  • Must be able to maintain a good working relationship with co-workers
  • Must be able to effectively multi-task and make responsible decisions

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in theater, acting or theme park operations required
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in theatrical audio and/or lighting required
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in management required
  • Design experience preferred

Specific vision requirements for this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus and night vision. Must be able to take directional cues directly or indirectly.
