Job Summary: The EHS Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This role is critical in fostering a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within the manufacturing plant.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Program Development and Implementation:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Prepare and submit required EHS reports to regulatory agencies.
  1. Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Monitor changes in regulations and update programs and procedures accordingly.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions to mitigate identified risks.
  1. Training and Education:
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees at all levels.
  • Promote a culture of safety through effective communication and training initiatives.
  • Ensure that all employees are informed of EHS policies and procedures.
  1. Incident Investigation and Reporting:
  • Lead investigations into EHS incidents and near-misses.
  • Document findings and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain records of all incidents and report them to appropriate authorities as required.
  1. Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for improving EHS performance and develop action plans.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance safety and environmental performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into operational processes.
  1. Emergency Preparedness and Response:
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Coordinate and conduct emergency drills to ensure preparedness.
  • Serve as the primary contact for emergency response and coordinate with local emergency services as needed.
  1. Sustainability Initiatives:
  • Promote and implement sustainability initiatives within the plant.
  • Monitor and report on sustainability metrics and progress.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS management within a manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective EHS programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and training skills.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification preferred.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in a manufacturing plant environment.
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and loud noise.
  • Requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
