Summary of Position

Perform project management activities for hazardous waste and environmental consulting projects. Develop cost estimates and work plans, subcontractor scopes of work and assist with procurement, performs schedule and budget tracking, and oversight of quality and safety, field activities, project staff, and subcontractor management, coordinate internal and partner resources and subcontractors/vendors for the flawless execution of projects to ensure client satisfaction. Supports firm wide business development activities.

Requirements

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage projects in accordance with contract and scope of work.
  • Prepare cost estimates, internal budgets, and track job costs.
  • Prepare and ensure compliance with contract for project planning documents including work plans, APP/ SSHP, PMP, and QCP, UFP-QAPP, and modification requests for Preliminary Assessments/Site Inspections, Remedial Investigations/Feasibility Studies, and remediation projects.
  • Manage well installation, sampling and analysis of groundwater, soil and sediment sample collection, soil vapor sample collection and vapor monitoring. Design investigation to delineate nature of contaminants, and vertical and lateral extent of contamination.
  • Quantify human health and ecological risks including the preparation of corresponding baseline risk assessments and exposure pathways.
  • Development of site conceptual models, noting pathways.
  • Coordinate/perform project status reporting, procurement, and subcontract management.
  • Assist Contracts Manager with subcontract procurement including developing scopes of work and evaluating bids.
  • Supervise subcontractors, including drillers, geophysical surveyors, excavation service providers, laboratories, land surveyors, etc.
  • Prepare field reports and after-action reports.
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain monthly project summary reports - internal and external.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly status reports to the client.
  • Coordinate with internal and external clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 7-10 years related experience working with DoD (preferably USACE, AFCEC, NAVFAC) and other federal clients.
  • Technical expertise in sampling, investigation, and remediation of all media.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations.
  • Ability to gather and analyze data, reason logically and creatively, draw conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, delegate, and work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to be flexible and course-correct quickly.
  • Excellent written, oral, and computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Ability to obtain base passes and/or security clearance as required.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER with current 8-hour refresher, and supervisor training.
  • Must have a valid U.S. driver's license, a clean driving record, and be willing to travel as needed.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug-screen and background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • USACE Construction Quality Management.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Knowledge/experience with PFOS/PFOA sampling.
  • Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG) or ability to obtain.
  • 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety

Working Conditions

  • Overnight and day travel as required/needed.
  • Will entail working in remote field locations with variable climate conditions and rough, uneven terrain.
  • Extended periods of time in front of a computer screen in a climate-controlled office.
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs.
