Overview:

Responsible for providing the support necessary to ensure that project development, construction, and operating facilities follow federal, state, and local wildlife focused environmental laws and regulations in addition to corporate environmental policies and procedures. Expertise is required in the areas of wildlife, ecosystem services, vegetation management, and wetlands. Works under very general direction. Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Serves as an environmental subject matter expert and provides specialized technical expertise and judgment to resolve moderately complex wildlife focused environmental issues. Leads/conducts investigations which include analyzing and interpreting trends and prepares technical documents on results. Leads/conducts trend analyses, incident investigations and site audits for assigned function. Prepares and submits permit applications and renewals. Evaluates and reviews proposed and existing codes, standards, regulations, and guidelines to determine the impact on company programs and facility operations and comments to regulatory authorities. Maintains current knowledge on wildlife focused environmental laws and regulations and a working knowledge on the scientific and technical aspects of regulatory requirements and how they may impact company operations. May act as a lead person or lead technical expert and provide direction to less experienced personnel working on small to medium-sized initiatives.



Responsibilities

:40%, Serves as subject matter expert for moderately complex technical program and compliance issues and supports company's environmental goals, strategies, programs, and processes. Develops and maintains procedures and programs to assist facilities in complying with wildlife focused environmental laws and regulations. Ensures that The Company work procedures address compliance guidance. Tracks regulatory changes, legislative activities, and industry standards; identifies needed changes to facility's compliance programs. Works with federal, state, and local regulatory authorities to interpret regulations and laws. Represents The Company on various internal/external industry committees and teams

.20%, Provide regulatory-required and internal environmental reports. Develop assigned environmental training programs. Support general environmental programs

.20% Prepare, submit, and negotiate permits and permit renewals with federal, state, and local authorities. Communicate permit requirements to facilities. Works with other EHS Professionals and facility personnel to update various facility plans and documents that require in-depth/breadth of knowledge and experience while minimizing impacts to operational activities

.10%, Ensures accomplishment of work unit goals and enhances company reputation through effective planning, organizing, communicating, and scheduling of environmental work activities. Supports/leads the department's routine and special projects to accomplish business objectives

  • edBachelor’s degree: in biology, wildlife, natural resources management, environmental science, or other related science field and 5 years biology/science related experienc
  • e.Strong explanatory/educational skills when working with regulators and the publi

  • t.Successful track record in supporting wildlife focused environmental compliance at multiple facilities within multiple regulatory jurisdiction
