Job Description

Position Summary

Guggenheim is seeking a highly motivated, analytical, and process driven Junior Equities Trader who will support the desk responsible for trading cash equities. The candidate will work closely with the Execution team, Equity Sales and Research teams. You will be responsible to provide information regarding market activity, execution of trades and value-added content to the trading desk and our clients. The candidate will work closely with our specialty sales teams and our research department to develop a strong knowledge of Guggenheim’s research product and assist in the marketing of the firms’ resources to clients. The role will be based in NY and the candidate will sit on the NY trading desk.

Essential Job Functions

  • Support the equity trading desk and sales teams in servicing Guggenheim‘s institutional clients and their orders.
  • Develop extensive knowledge and comprehensive understanding of our research product.
  • Stay abreast of market events and share thoughts with the team and clients.
  • Develop full knowledge of electronic trading system and capabilities
  • Operate as part of a highly collaborative and supportive team culture

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-3 years’ experience within financial markets a plus
  • Deep understanding of financial markets and a passion for being part of a sales/trading environment
  • Confident with technology and the ability to learn how to use multiple trading systems
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Team player with effective communication skills and demonstrate the ability to work with multiple partners and stakeholders
  • Enthusiastic and positive approach to challenges
  • Comfortable in social environment to develop client relationships
  • Strong work ethic with high level of self-motivation and eagerness to innovate and evolve with the trading team.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in finance, economics, mathematics, engineering and/or computer science
  • Series 7 and 63 registered or must be acquired within 150 days of employment

Work Location

  • Currently, this role is expected to be in the ­­­­New York office at least 4 days per week.

Salary

  • Annual base salary between $100,000 and $110,000.
  • The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. Actual base salaries may vary depending on factors such as location and experience. The range listed reflects base salary only, and the total compensation package may include other components such as incentive compensation.
