Occupational Summary
The Assistant Director of Diversity & Inclusion will provide leadership in developing and implementing strategic diversity and inclusion initiatives that engage all faculty and staff involved in clinical research. Develop and implement equity key performance indicators and listening sessions to integrate effective diversity practices within the current framework, and monitor and evaluate progress in creating a more diverse and inclusive environment in clinical research. Collaboratively develop and implement strategies for recruitment of a diverse population in clinical research. Develop Insurance Action Plan.

Required Qualifications at this Level
An advanced degree is required (i.e., MBA, MPP, MSW, MPA etc.).
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of directly related experience with progressive responsibility in faculty development and/or diversity work in academia, not for profit, or business. Development of faculty or staff programs strongly preferred.
Skills:
Excellent interpersonal and cross cultural communication and presentation skills.
Ability to focus on strategic goals and implement appropriate interventions.

Develop Equity KPIs and Listening Sessions Framework
- Work with clinical faculty, Duke REACH and UCLA CTSI to develop and implement equity key performance indicators (KPI).
- Plan and conduct demographic-specific listening sessions and prepare a "Road Map to Equity" report integrating feedback
- Liaise with CMMI, CMS, HHS, and Duke Margolis Center for Health Policy and Review disparate disease burdens and policy proposals for OA
- Develop strategies for access and reimbursement considerations to “ensure” equity
- Symposium planning and implementation with Duke REACH and UCLA
- Develop rollout strategies for community engagement
- Develop strategies targeting overlooked communities
- Work with clinical trial management to monitor KPI adherence
- Navigate regulatory landscape with oversight (IRB and/or FDA)
- Adjust recruitment plans based on demographic data
