Esports and streaming writer - North America, Remote

Dexerto are looking for a talented full-time writer who can cover esports and streaming content from their home in the United States, or Canada. They will work five days per week, two of which will be on weekends.

You should be a versatile writer who is able to source and write compelling stories about esports and popular streamers or VTubers who create content on platforms such as Twitch, Kick and YouTube.

Whilst you won’t be expected to know everything about every single esport, we are looking for someone who has a broad knowledge, but can also specialize in a few areas. We would be particularly interested in someone with excellent knowledge of Call of Duty Esports and is able to cover CSGO, League of Legends, and Valorant competently.

You would need to also have a broad knowledge of the streaming scene, helping us cover stories featuring major personalities such as Dr Disrespect, Asmongold, xQc, Kai Cenat, Ludwig, Pokimane, and more. Good knowledge of gaming is also required.

Experience of writing for a publication is advantageous, but this is a role in which talent is more important, so if you can demonstrate your writing skills, knowledge, and passion, we want to hear from you. See Application instructions below.

Some knowledge of SEO is also desirable while basic image editing skills is essential.

Requirements

• Understanding and knowledge of esports, streaming and gaming
• A snappy and compelling writing style
• Able to write to short deadlines under pressure
• Have a keen attention to detail – can spot grammatical errors and fact check.
• Creative ability – able think of feature ideas and suggest news stories that will resonate with our audience
• Able to act independently on writing tasks
• SEO knowledge desirable but not essential
• Own computing equipment that can run Photoshop and be able to use it competently
• Experience with content management systems is desirable
• Able to work full-time hours (40) without other education or job commitments
