Job Description
Dow Jones is looking for an Executive Assistant to support the editor in chief of The Wall Street Journal. You will manage mostly business related tasks for the editor in chief such as creating reports, organizing travel and accommodations, taking minutes, and other organizational tasks. You will need to have a detailed understanding of the full Google suite, be extremely fast at solving problems and have previous experience as an executive assistant. You should be someone who enjoys being a team player and can handle many different types of work styles with tact and professionalism. Most importantly, you must be self-motivated and have the proven ability to use discretion. This position is New York based.

Dow Jones is looking for an Executive Assistant to support the editor in chief of The Wall Street Journal. You Will
- Be in the office five days a week.
- Work with the senior manager in the editor in chief’s office to effectively anticipate deliverables and follow up when necessary.
- Help to manage the calendar for the editor in chief, being attentive to priorities and optimal use of the executive's time.
- Provide a bridge for smooth communication between the editor in chief’s office and internal departments; demonstrate leadership to maintain credibility, trust and support with senior management staff
- Prioritize conflicting needs; handle matters expeditiously, proactively, and follow-through on projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures
- Prepare daily pre-reads and meeting material for the editor in chief.
- Ensure that proper preparation of materials and files are available for each day's meetings and events.
- Arrange video conferences/teleconferences including tech support for all meetings.
- Preparing and filing travel expenses.
- Manage relationships with vendors, tracking expenses and ensuring departmental bills are being paid
- Coordinate catering needs.
- Plan and coordinate global travel. Arrange flights, rail service, hotel and car service reservations. Prepare a detailed travel itinerary prior to each trip.
- 5+ years of experience as an executive assistant, supporting a C-Suite executive.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Zoom, and the
- Google Suite of products.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information.
- Knowledge about how large corporations work.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Clear and effective communication skills.
- Maintain confidential information with superior judgment and discretion.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and people simultaneously.
- A positive, problem solving attitude.
