Salary: £64,103 - £78,348 per annum, depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Job Introduction BBC Radio Humberside & Radio Lincolnshire are BBC Local radio stations at the heart of their communities providing a rich mix of local linear content across news, sport and programmes as well as digital audio for online audiences. We provide impartial news and current affairs and showcase local stories, talent and creativity. We are ambitious for the future and want to increase our online growth through the iPlayer and BBC Sounds. The Audio Executive Editor reports to the regional Head of Production in Yorkshire & Lincolnshire who is responsible for all services across the region.

Main Responsibilities

You will ensure the delivery of outstanding local audio content that enables the BBC to serve new and existing audiences and grow new habits across live and on-demand services. You will provide effective leadership and support to local production teams based in Hull and Lincoln. You will manage and motivate colleagues to deliver creative and innovative content. You will support the Audio Commissioning strategy for BBC Local and work closely with the Controller of Commissioning to ensure content meets the required editorial specification and service brief. You will work closely with the Head of Production, other Executive Editors and the Senior News Editors as part of a multi-media leadership team within the region and act as an ambassador for the BBC. You will effectively harness live and on-demand audience data to drive editorial and audience performance and be accountable for editorial standards & compliance.

  • You will have excellent communication and influencing skills and the experience to manage complex relationships through collaboration, dialogue and engagement.
