SC&A, Inc., is seeking a professional editor (1099 to start; potential for full time employment). This is a remote (work from home) position.

Responsibilities

  • Perform substantive and copy edit engineering and scientific documents under tight deadlines
  • Apply styles and other advanced formatting in Microsoft Word
  • Ensure documents adhere to client style guides
  • Ensure that final deliverables are free of grammar, syntax, and spelling errors; express ideas clearly; and conform to specified styles

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience substantively editing engineering and scientific documents
  • Experience applying editing style guides, such as the Government Publishing Office Style Manual and Chicago Manual of Style, and ability to apply different style guides to different projects
  • Expert skills in Microsoft Word
  • Superb attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • U.S. citizen able to obtain a security clearance; must be located in the United States

Selected applicants will complete a phone screening interview and may be asked to complete a 2-hour editing assessment.
