Job Summary:

The Exercise Sciences department is looking for a qualified candidate to manage internship administrative duties and develop and manage creative and promotional activities in the department. Under the supervision of the Internship Coordinator, the successful candidate will manage internship applications and student internship data. Under the direction of the Department Executive Committee, the successful candidate will work with students to increase the visibility of the department and its students on and off campus.

Internship Administration Responsibilities:

  • Manage and approve student internship applications
  • Serve as the department Experiential Learning Management System (ELMs) manager
    • Compile internship data for the ELMs report each semester
    • Compile data for the Out of State Learning Placement Report
    • Assist with compiling qualitative internship data for departmental use
  • Assist with maintaining the Exercise Sciences Internship website
    • Advertise a list of current internship opportunities
  • Respond to student email requests for information about the internship approval process
  • Report to the internship coordinator

Creative Director Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage/supervise departmental promotional activities, including:
    • Department podcast in collaboration with faculty.
    • Department social media presence.
    • Other miscellaneous promotional activities & creative works (recruiting materials, banners, department seminar promotion, department displays, etc.).
  • Provide website & newsletter design support.
  • Assist with e-store merchandising.
  • Work with department staff and report to department chair.

Minimum education/experience required: Bachelor's degree with 2 years of experience or equivalent education and/or experience.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications:

  • Background in Exercise Sciences and/or Wellness.
  • Experience with internship management.
  • Creative experience with graphic design, podcast production, social media analysis, marketing, and web design.
  • Creative thinker and problem solver.
  • Willingness to mentor students.


Employee Class: 1/2 Time (17.5 hour)

Work Location: Provo Campus

Environment: General office or other equivalently good environment

Approximate Starting Salary: $21.50 - $27.75/hour
