Assistant/Associate/Professor - Ophthalmology Eye Disease (T/TT)

The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Missouri in Columbia invites applications for a tenure/tenure track faculty position at the Assistant/Associate/Professor level. Faculty rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

The major criteria for appointment in the University tenure track line is a major commitment to research, with demonstrated research distinction, including evidence of success with external peer review and funding. Applications are especially encouraged from those who have demonstrated research distinction, including evidence of success with external peer review and funding.

The applicants research area should include studying molecular mechanisms involved with anterior segment diseases leading to visual loss or retinal disease(s) and commitment to evaluate therapeutic interventions for diseases affecting the eye and visual system.

Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD, DVM and/or MD degree and postdoctoral training.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience conducting translational research consistent with this position description and the University’s research mission.
