The purpose of the Facility Maintenance Manager is to schedule, supervise and monitor the work of warehouse maintenance employees and contractors to ensure the proper repair and maintenance of Ben E. Keith equipment and facilities.

  • Lead, train, and manage assigned personnel to ensure the efficient upkeep of BEK facilities.
  • Implement appropriate policies and procedures to ensure compliance with BEK operational objectives and regulatory guidelines.
  • Manage maintenance activities and keep organized documentation of all maintenance and repairs performed on BEK equipment and facilities to ensure maintenance guidelines are met and maintained.
  • Monitor expenditures to minimize costs and effectively manage budgetary guidelines.
  • Provide performance feedback to personnel.

Job Qualifications

  • Food industry and/or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ammonia refrigeration experience preferred.
  • Ability to take and pass Hazwoper and GCAP I & II classes within the first year of employment required.
  • Ability to learn and operate all systems managed with on-the-job experience over time required.
  • Ability to learn and comprehend technical documentation and electrical systems required.
  • Experience with budget management and material/cost estimates.
  • Experience with multiple types of maintenance equipment to include MHE preferred.
  • Ability to understand and enforce regulatory guidelines to include hazardous materials and environmental regulations.
  • Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and related codes required.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to include the ability to train and lead department personnel.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills to include the ability to effectively interact with division management.
  • Analytical; detail-oriented, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and understand complex processes.
  • Willingness to cover off hours or weekend projects as needed required.
  • Ability to work with and create positive working relationships with vendors.
  • Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of equivalent facility management/maintenance experience required.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and criminal background check.
