At the University of Arizona Global Campus, Full-Time Faculty are discipline experts who provide a positive learning environment in a specific academic program, emphasis, and/or discipline to facilitate and support student success within the College of Arts and Sciences. At UAGC we utilize the term faculty, and they are committed to high-quality teaching and learning through ongoing evaluation and continuous improvement.
This position is for full-time faculty employment which precludes employment outside of the university, all other teaching/employment obligations must be submitted in writing and approved by your supervisor.
Duties And Responsibilities
Teaching Responsibilities – 30%
Responsibilities
Faculty should demonstrate exemplary teaching in their discipline. Teaching includes content delivery, student mentoring and assessment of student learning. All Faculty will carry a teaching load requirement, determined annually. Additionally, Faculty are responsible for:
Demonstrating awareness of and responding to the diverse needs of all students using a Culture of Care approach
Displaying a thorough knowledge of both the curriculum and the subject matter
Facilitating instructional materials and providing guidance and feedback to all students
Setting high expectations for student achievement and behavior
Evaluating student performance via established rubrics and policies
Responding to student emails and inquiries in a timely manner
Addressing plagiarism concerns according to university policy
Collaborating with student-facing institutional personnel to enhance the student experience
All Faculty will carry a teaching load requirement, determined annually
Student Success – 20%
Implement retention, persistence, graduation, and student success initiatives as guided by college and University leadership
Contribute to student success through regular interaction with student enrollment and academic advisors
Support program and emphasis development activities, faculty lounge, course development, and assessment
Support college leadership in evaluation of teaching efficacy within college and faculty coaching
Collaborate with other university departments to ensure a positive experience for all university students
Support efforts in building a Virtual Learning Community
Service – 20%
Contribute to a university-wide, college and department committees
Collaborate with college or university teams to develop and implement new initiatives
Assist with program review (gathering data, writing reports, creating action plans for enhancement)
Represent college in university meetings and forums
Provide support for accreditation and licensure efforts to ensure courses meets career and discipline goals
Professional Development and Scholarship – 20%
Engage in faculty scholarship and development activities related to the university’s primary focus as a teaching institution, which may include discovery, integration, application, and/or teaching
Support faculty forums and other professional development activities within the college
Participate in faculty communities of practice and community spaces
Participate in external discipline specific webinars, conferences, and professional communities
Enhance teaching effectiveness skills by attending seminars, webinars, workshops, and classes through both internal and external programming
Other Duties – 10%
Participate in meetings (on site and virtual) as directed
Maintain regular work hours coordinated with supervisor
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Exceptional technology skills using video, multiple virtual platforms, applications and Zoom
Experience with Canvas Learning Platform
Commitment to uphold University’s diversity, equity, and inclusion practices
Knowledge of the National Association of the Education of Young Children Accreditation process
Minimum Qualifications
PhD or EdD in Early Childhood Education or related field, from a regionally accredited institution
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with teaching adult learners
Online teaching experience

Rate of Pay: $70,000 - $75,000
Compensation Type: Salary at 1.0 Full-Time Equivalency (FTE)
