Duties And Responsibilities
- Teaches lecture and laboratory sections
- Evaluates students and performs career and academic advising
- Plans and organizes instructional materials to meet course objectives
- Develops and teaches online courses
- Teaches Dual Enrollment classes
- Recruits, advises, and evaluates students
- Prepares and writes grants for the School of Engineering and Technology
- Teaches information systems technology courses college wide
- Participates in a variety of departmental, campus and college-wide programs, activities, and committees
- Serves as a resource person for adjunct faculty
- Teaches day, evening and weekend classes as needed
- Physics: Master's Degree in Physics; or Master's Degree and 18 graduate semester hours in Physics
- Physical Sciences: Master's Degree in Physical Science; or Master's Degree and 18 graduate semester hours in Physical Science
- All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
- Familiarity with and use of collaborative learning techniques and student-centered methods of instruction
- Ability to function well in a technological environment and willing to use technological tools in instruction
- Possess excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with students with a wide range of skills
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff, and the community
- Demonstrated effective use of active learning techniques
- Previous curriculum development and recruitment experience a plus
- Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
- Start date for this Faculty position is anticipated to be scheduled on or before the beginning of Fall Semester 2024
- Doctoral stipend awarded in addition to base salary, as applicable
