Valens is hiring interns for the Fall 2024 semester.

Location: Remote

Type of employment: Temporary, part-time (20 hours per week).

Description

Interns will support Valens Global’s analytical work on national security issues, with an emphasis on terrorism and violent extremism. The intern will conduct in-depth research and analysis to assist with a range of projects for clients including U.S. government agencies, private companies, and civil society. Prior experience with open-source intelligence (OSINT) techniques is highly desirable, as are critical thinking skills and an ability to think through complex problems with nuance and an attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and draft polished, well-organized, and thoughtful products.
  • Conduct research consulting a wide range of open-source materials, including primary and secondary sources and social media data.
  • Think creatively and brainstorm new products with the team.

Minimum Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience working in research.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytic skills.
  • Strong skills in interpersonal communication, organization, and working as part of a team.
  • U.S. Citizen

Candidates must complete the Predictive Index Behavioral Assessment. Prospective candidates will also be asked to complete a skills test prior to hiring.
