A Field and Music Instructor is responsible for coaching and guiding students in both musical performance and field movement. This role involves developing the musical and visual aspects of performances, ensuring the synchronization of music and marching, and preparing the group for competitions and performances.
Position Duties
Teach and refine musical pieces for performances.
Conduct sectional rehearsals for brass, woodwind, percussion, and other instrumental groups.
Provide instruction on musical techniques, tone quality, intonation, and ensemble balance.
Design and implement field drills and marching routines.
Teach students proper marching techniques, including posture, step size, and alignment.
Ensure that field movements are synchronized with the musical performance
Collaborate with other staff members to design the overall show, including musical selections, choreography, and visual effects.
Select music that complements the field movements and enhances the overall performance.
