FIG Capital Solutions - Executive Director
Summary of Responsibilities:
Capital Solutions will play a key part in the development of our North American and European FIG franchise. Actively contributing to the origination, structuring, and advisory of capital and liquidity optimization solutions tailored to financial institutions. The Capital Solutions team works closely with client coverage and DCM in developing our FIG relationships and source advisory and trades ideas. In addition to the capital structure advice provided, Capital Solutions will also work closely with product partners and clients on monitoring, assessing/addressing impact of relevant regulatory and rating methodology developments.
Responsible for developing advisory relationships with key bank, insurance company, and other institutional clients of the bank, as well as key sectorial stakeholders such as regulators, rating agencies and lawyers, focused on the US and Canadian regions. The Executive Director in Capital Solutions analyzes and makes recommendations regarding optimal balance sheet and capital structure alternatives. In addition, the Capital Solutions Debt Advisory Executive Director will analyze clients’ liquidity and capital positions from a regulatory, rating and financial perspective in the perspective of originating and advising on tailored solutions across equity, hybrid capital, liability management and risk transfer instruments.
The Executive Director will manage client relationships in close coordination with other product and coverage teams within the bank globally. The candidate will also be subject matter expert as it relates to applicable regulations, documentation, and market execution.
List Major/Essential Job Duties:
Leading the client dialogue with financial institutions, including banks, insurance companies, asset managers, etc. as it relates to balance sheet and ratings optimization
Active interaction with internal teams (coverage, DCM, risk, legal, etc) to provide holistic and cross-product advice to clients
Significant focus on building trusted advisor relationships with both existing clients and prospects in the financial sector
Active interaction with key sectorial stakeholder including but not limited to rating agencies, regulators, legal advisors, investors (…)
Coordinate and manage junior resources as needed to manage client idea generation and execute transactions
Level of Complexity and Risk Involved:
High level of complexity – highly technical role requiring expert level knowledge of financial regulations and capital implications
Skills, knowledge, and abilities/competencies:
10 yr minimum previous experience at Investment Bank, Commercial Bank, or Rating Agency related to financial institution capital structures and funding
Expert level knowledge of banks, insurance companies, and other financial institution regulatory frameworks and rating methodologies
Specific expertise in FABN, SRT and/or ILS would be highly valued
Demonstrated existing relationships with strategic sectorial stakeholders within the regulatory and rating agency communities
Knowledge of fixed income instruments with a specific focus on financial institutions
Strong communication skills and the ability to deliver quantitative-based recommendations and qualitative presentation materials
Ability to work with cross-functional and cross-geographic teams

This role will have access to an analyst pool

With respect to this position in our New York Office, the expected base salary ranges from $200,000 to $260,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
