Position Overview:

The Finance & Accounting Intern will assist the department and gain a wide range of accounting experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Research, record, and reconcile daily bank transactions into the general ledger.
  • Process accounts payable in compliance with the Association’s policies and procedures.
  • Accurate and timely completion of all assigned monthly, quarterly, and year-end close tasks.]Prepare financial reports and statements.
  • Assist other departments with requests, including but not limited to re-issuing and/or voiding checks.
  • Ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Characteristics:

  • Working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting.
  • Must understand core accounting principles.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Must have a solid knowledge of MS Office applications, including Excel and Word
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to take initiative but is also able to ask for direction when needed.
