Base pay range
This position is responsible for financial leadership and management within the finance function for the EPS Global Division, providing financial support and direction to commercial operations within the Division. The Global Finance Director, will be accountable to maximize regional sales and profitability, maintain and implement effective and efficient financial reporting systems, and develop both short- and long-term plans to improve the business financial performance. This position will lead the financial work activities in the business through the direct reports working in the finance department as well as with indirect reports by proactively working with the EPS Division Leadership team. The expectation is that this position provides support to help standardize and enhance current financial processes and procedures as well as implement new financial systems and reporting for the global EPS business.
Responsibilities
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
The Global Finance Director is responsible for the management of financial operations globally within the EPS business.
Responsibilities include the following:
- Preparation of the annual operating plan and monthly forecasts for the EPS business (North America, EMEAI, and Asia).
- Directs the development of the budget, financial forecasts, plant or divisional financial reviews, acquisition models, fixed and variable costing, capital expenditures, and other financial modeling and measures.
- Provide financial direction to the Vice-President and Region Business Unit leads in support of financial results and strategic initiatives.
- Develop pricing strategies for key market segments within the resin business and ensure a thorough analysis to maintain or improve margins.
- Provide direct financial support for the EPS business and Regional teams, including ad-hoc analysis and month end reporting.
- Provide financial analysis and support for the sales and marketing organization and reporting to support pricing decisions.
- Work with the Global Polymer Leadership Team determining the resin strategy for entire network of tolling, outside supply and inside production of polymers.
- Evaluate, recommend, prepare and implement sales targets/tracking for EPS sales incentive plans to achieve division goals.
- Analyze and report the Global Business’ financial results and provide monthly commentary on variances.
- Support management by developing and providing accurate and timely financial, statistical, and/or operational reports that are useful in making sound business decisions.
- Participate on special projects as required (i.e. task force, six sigma, etc.).
- Develops financial systems and reporting mechanisms
- Develops finance talent for the EPS organization.
- Challenge the current financial reporting environment to explore opportunities for improvement or overhaul in financial management reporting and consolidations. This includes regular review of the business financial organization structure to ensure productivity is maximized.
- Act as a true business partner to the EPS Business Vice-President and the leadership team by offering advice and guidance on business improvement and risk reduction.
- Oversee legal and statutory responsibilities as well as debt management for the business.
- Manage the monthly financial consolidation (both the month end close and forecast process) and play a key role for the business in the preparation of the annual operating plan.
- Ensure the provision of regular margin, product, pricing and customer analysis for both management and sales teams.
- Preparation of insightful management reports including monthly and quarterly executive summary commentary related to the regional performance.
- In addition to directing the financial activities of the business, the position will supervise, coach and mentor the finance team to improve the overall effectiveness of financial management.
- Actively lead business wide projects / M&A assessments and participate in conference calls and meetings as appropriate.
- Be a part of customer meetings, attend customer sites to discuss financials as required.
- Maintain and develop a positive finance team environment. Exhibit and impart the Sherwin-Williams Financial Excellence Principles and Guiding Values. Build staff capabilities through programs that improve individual skills and develop improved management and communication (i.e. cross functional training).

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Formal Education: Undergraduate Degree in Finance/Accounting
- Bachelors Degree (BAcc, BAE, BBA, BFin, or BEcon)
- Master’s degree (MBA, MSc Business/Finance)
- CIMA or other professional financial/accounting qualification
- Knowledge & Experience:
- 10+ Years of Accounting or Finance experience
- Experience as a successful Manager of other Managers
- Experience working in a multinational reporting environment
- Technical/skill Requirements:
- Adapts easily to change, can manage in an uncertain environment, ability to maintain composure under pressure and manage multiple tasks with competing interests for time and evolving priorities
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, strong communication skills, and an attention to detail.
- Maintain good communication with field and Global/Division/Region management.
- Ability to effectively navigate matrix work environment and reporting requirements.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and growing employees and managers.
- Proven track record of leading and effectively communicating with staff virtually.
- Experience with Hyperion Reporting, Oracle ERP & MicroStrategy systems
- Must be able to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of management including individuals of foreign cultures where English is not the primary language
- Travel Requirements (time spent away from home or other typical office location): ~15%
