Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Intern to join our team for the summer. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of corporate finance. The Finance Intern will support the Finance Department in daily operations, financial analysis, and strategic projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Financial Analysis: Assist in preparing and analyzing financial statements, reports, and forecasts. Conduct variance analysis to identify trends and discrepancies.
  • Data Management: Maintain and update financial databases, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial information.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the budgeting and forecasting process, including data collection, entry, and preliminary analysis.
  • Research: Conduct research on market trends, economic conditions, and financial best practices to support strategic decision-making.
  • Report Preparation: Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Prepare presentations and summaries for management review.
  • Audit Support: Provide assistance during internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Ad-hoc Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by the finance team, contributing to process improvements and efficiency gains.
  • Cross-departmental collaboration to improve communication and business performance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and lead initiatives to maintain zero workplace injuries.
  • Must be able to meet predictable attendance and punctuality expectations and physical demands of the position complying with Ethnix Group’s policies and performance expectations.

Organizational Responsibilities

Follows established policies and procedures by monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and operational processes related to area(s) of responsibility and reporting violations or infractions to appropriate individual(s).

Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with Company, warehouse, and departmental policies, procedures, and standards by immediately reporting any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, employee/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to appropriate individual(s).

Work Schedule (may vary by state or location):

This position is scheduled for seasonal internship. Hours of operation vary by site and shift.

Education/Experience

  • Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Previous internship or relevant experience in finance or accounting is preferred but not required.

Language Ability

Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively to comprehend and complete documents, and answer questions in English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence as needed. Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Math Ability

Demonstrated mathematical skills necessary to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers, decimals, and fractions, and calculate percentages to complete daily settlements, reports and inventory audits and other reporting information. Strong mathematical skills for financial record-keeping and inventory audits.

Reasoning Ability

Demonstrated ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Computer Skills

Demonstrated proficiency in word processing, TEAMS, and spreadsheet management programs in order to complete required reports and documents. Proficiency and fluency in using the internet.

Must be able to push, pull, lift, carry, or maneuver weights of up to fifty (50) pounds independently and one hundred (100) pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Routine, local travel may be required to attend training classes, conduct market research, or other situations necessary for the accomplishment of some or all of the daily responsibilities of this position.
