Financial Controller

About the Role

AUTEC is seeking a seasoned Controller to join our team. This role is responsible for the day-to-day financial operations and accounting functions of the company. The Controller ensures accurate financial reporting, maintains compliance, implements effective internal controls, and manages various accounting processes.

This is a full-time onsite role in our Statesville, NC facility.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the accurate preparation and presentation of financial statements in compliance with GAAP. Present financial results with supporting analyses incorporated in the firm’s reporting packages presentable to senior management and the BOD.
• Oversee accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and reconciliations.
• Develop and maintain efficient internal processes that capture financial transactions accurately and ensure data integrity.
• Prepare budgets, collect, analyze, and consolidate financial data, and recommend actionable plans.
• Establish and assure execution of internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent errors, fraud, and misreporting.
• Manage compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements to mitigate risks.
• Analyze financial data to provide insights into company performance, cost reduction opportunities, and revenue optimization.
• Communicate complex financial concepts clearly and concisely to senior management and stakeholders.
• Enhance financial returns by establishing policies, controls, and reporting systems.
• Collaborate with the executive management team, offering strategic recommendations that contribute to the company's growth and success.
• Conduct in-depth research on revenue opportunities, economic trends, operational improvements, and cost reductions.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations through proactive measures.
• Implement and oversee the documentation of departmental processes, ensuring accuracy of financial data and adherence to internal policies.
• Support the CFO in evaluating opportunities, guiding financial resource allocation, and driving growth initiatives.
• Monitor changes in accounting standards and implement compliance measures to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Enhance financial returns by establishing policies, controls, and reporting systems.
• Ensure financial condition accuracy through audits and coordination with external auditors.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following skills & qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's Degree preferred).
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
• Experience in the manufacturing industry.
• Proven experience in financial management, accounting, and internal controls.
• Expertise in GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Expertise in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A).
• Strong analytical skills and ability to provide valuable financial insights.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in ERP and consolidation systems, SAP Business One preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency in financial analysis tools and software.
• Detail-oriented and committed to data accuracy and compliance.
