Financial Controller

The Kostelic Agency, in partnership with our client, a multi-billion dollar, high growth, industry leading organization, is seeking an experienced and driven Financial Controller/Accounting Director to join their team!

This is a pivotal role in shaping our client's accounting organization and collaborating with senior leadership. This position requires a blend of leadership, technical skill, and a hands-on approach to managing accounting functions. You'll be at the forefront of automating financial reporting, ensuring GAAP compliance, and leading the year-end audit process.

Reporting to a highly experienced and engaging SVP of Accounting and partnering with various other senior leadership, you will receive the guidance and mentorship that will further foster your growth in the role. What You'll Do:

• Lead Comprehensive Accounting Operations: Oversee all accounting functions, including Accounts Payable/Receivable, inventory management, payroll, and month-end processes, ensuring seamless and efficient operations.
• Champion Financial Accuracy: Automate financial reporting processes to achieve a accuracy, ensuring all reports are GAAP-compliant and audit-ready, reflecting the highest standards of precision.
• Optimize Cash Management: Implement effective cash management strategies, reinforced by strong internal controls to safeguard assets and enhance financial stability.
• Streamline Closing Processes: Manage and execute thorough monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and general ledger analyses, to provide timely and accurate financial insights.
• Lead Seamless Integrations: Guide the integration of acquisitions into existing accounting systems, ensuring smooth transitions and consistent financial reporting across entities.
• Enhance Internal Controls: Implement and monitor robust internal controls, work closely with external auditors, and contribute to strategic budget planning to support informed decision-making.
• Drive Strategic Initiatives: Lead strategic projects and process improvements, preparing insightful analytical presentations and spearheading various ad-hoc initiatives that drive the company forward.

What You Need:

• Accounting Expertise: 6+ years of hands-on experience in accounting operations and technical accounting, with a preferred foundation in public accounting that sets you apart. Experience within M&A and/or acquisition integrations is a plus.
• Educational Excellence: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is essential, while a Master’s degree and an active CPA license are highly valued, showcasing your commitment to professional growth.
• Mastery of U.S. GAAP: A deep understanding of U.S. GAAP accounting standards, enabling you to navigate complex financial landscapes with confidence.

• Proven Leadership: Demonstrated success in leading accounting processes, with a knack for streamlining operations and driving continuous improvement.
• Team Builder: Experience in developing and organizing teams, with a talent for fostering collaboration and bringing out the best in your colleagues.
• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with various accounting systems and the aptitude to quicky adapt. Experience with Sage Intacct and system implementations is a plus, positioning you to contribute to system optimizations and integrations.
• Exceptional Communication Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities that allow you to connect with diverse stakeholders and inspire your team.
• Driven and Independent: A highly motivated, results-oriented professional with a positive, team-focused attitude and the ability to work independently to achieve goals.
