Financial Operations Analyst
Summary
The Operations Financial Analyst at Marcolin US will ideally be a business minded individual, responsible for supporting the inventory process through financial reporting, financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting by delivering financial insight to enable sound business decisions. The Operations Financial Analyst will be responsible for providing financial, analytical and operational support to the Logistic team, the Sales Operations team and the Corporate Management. The position focuses on analysis of inventory reserve, cost of goods sold, inventory aging and operational support to assist the Management team.
This position requires a decisive, versatile, and experienced finance professional who is passionate about the business, thinks strategically, delivers results, demonstrates rapid decision-making, and leads change.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- support for all inventory accounting functions, such as:
- inventory analysis reports and analyzing variances
- in the improvement in internal controls related to inventory
- accurate standard vs actual costs
- inventory transactions
- inventory accounts to the general ledger
- monthly journal entries as needed
- projects as required
- Initiate and lead improvements and increase the impact of the sales planning activities, reporting, and strategic pricing
- Forecast and manage costs for a variety of areas across the Supply Chain, including Distribution Center, Inbound & Outbound Transportation.
- Perform KPI’s around freight in and freight out, duties and labor cost logistics and productivity
- Analyze inventory counts, by brand
- Review pricing inputs from the Brand team and manage the uploads of the prices in SAP
Assist in the preparation of Opex budgets and forecasts, including the gathering of necessary data, the development of supporting models, collaborating with business partners to develop assumptions, and driving targets, the development of monthly, quarterly, yearly and ad-hoc budget vs actual reports to provide timely direction and support decision making.
- Support and assist in generate and review daily and monthly reports of financial information, P&L reports and specific dashboards on selected Balance Sheet items.
- Favor continuous improvement of financial processes and procedures, including standardization, centralization, acceleration, automation, harmonization of data for consistent processing and reporting, and identification and implementation of new tools to improve accuracy, efficiency, and costs.
- Development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability and performance against budget
- in the review & development of short & long-term strategy and maintain accountability to understand all developments which may affect the organization’s operations and policies, advising stakeholders of all relevant financial matters to achieve business requirements and objectives
- and provide information related to financial audits
- in Monthly close with Journal Entries preparation and other ad hoc analysis

Skills/ Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting
- Minimum of 3/4 years’ experience in senior level finance or controlling position
- Experience in one of the following industries required: consumer goods, manufacturing, retail or wholesale
- Advanced skills with Excel are required (MS Access preferred)
- Prior experience in finance partnering role or equivalent, preferably from an international business
- Strategic thinker that focuses on the bigger picture
- A strategic mindset—ability to gather unstructured data, synthesize frameworks, and test & learn through hypothesis design, lean experimentation, and iteration
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mind, combined with strong business acumen
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, facilitating clear and open communication at all levels of the organization

Work Conditions/ Environment
- work environment: 4 days a week in office
- is located in New York (NY), with occasional travel to Somerville (NJ) office
