Job Overview

The FP&A Analyst is responsible for the maintenance of financial tools and monthly reporting. This position leads the financial planning and analysis for the company including monthly forecasts, annual budgeting, operating plan variance analysis and special projects. Under the general direction of the Lead Business Operations Analyst, the FP&A Analyst works independently to assist in a variety of technical projects to increase financial visibility for all stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

• Directs the annual budgeting process, coordinating with all budget owners to ensure timely and accurate financial data.
• Monitors systems by analyzing current practices and recommending modifications to business processes and/or technology configurations.
• Creates innovative efficiencies through technical applications.
• Works with financial data, translating business data to usable information.
• Provide ad-hoc analysis as required to drive business decision making.
• Produces quality documentation for application and solution support.
• Reviews, evaluates, and develops recommendations for enhancements and support of enterprise systems.
• Communicates effectively with individuals possessing varying degrees of technical and functional knowledge.
• Implements reporting process, defining the specification and requirement gathering process.
• Conducts analysis of functional business processes and business requirements and recommend process changes.
• Oversees special projects.
• Performs other related tasks as assigned.
  
  

Job Requirements

Mandatory:

• Five (5) years of experience spanning various finance roles, with a strong grasp of how government contracts influence financial planning & analysis, accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable, general ledger, and other financial functions.
• Extensive experience with budgeting and planning tools.
• Experience acquiring, cleaning, and analyzing data.
• Understanding of finance forecasting.
• Understanding of regulatory, month-end, and financial statement reporting cycle.
• Possess skill with Excel at an advanced level.
