Base pay range
A Robert Half client is looking for an experienced professional to take on a senior role in managing the general ledger and overseeing financial reporting functions. Reporting directly to senior management, this role will focus on strategic financial oversight, including project leadership, ERP system enhancements, and continuous process improvements. The ideal candidate must be adaptable, detail-oriented, and capable of working effectively in a high-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and analysis of monthly consolidated financial statements and management reports.
- Ensure the integrity and efficiency of the general ledger by optimizing accounting processes and maintaining accurate records.
- Conduct in-depth research on US GAAP compliance, documenting treatments for complex transactions, and developing internal accounting policies.
- Manage the implementation and integration of data systems that impact financial accuracy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Identify and execute process improvements to support organizational growth, manage special projects, and adapt to evolving business needs.
- Supervise the general ledger and consolidated reporting processes, including the preparation of monthly budget-to-actual reports.
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and account analyses, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
- Ensure that financial statements are prepared and reviewed accurately, reflecting the company's transactions and financial health.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across departments to enhance financial reporting accuracy and support strategic decision-making.
- Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of financial and accounting software systems.
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial reporting and general ledger management.
- Expertise in managing intercompany transactions and eliminations within complex organizational structures.
- Demonstrated success in leading ERP system implementations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with auditing processes and compliance.
- Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of GAAP.
- Proficient in utilizing automated accounting systems and financial software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- CPA preferred, but not required.
