Summary

The Fleet Manager is responsible for managing Qcells fleet vehicles, including purchasing, renting, and leasing. This position reports to the Director of Operation, or another management personnel that the President of the Company may designate. This position may be expected to travel at least 10%, or as needed for the project.

Essential Job Function & Responsibilities

  • Regular attendance, in accordance with the company's attendance policy and supervisory assignment, is a fundamental requirement for this position. Punctuality and consistent presence are essential to maintain workflow and productivity.
  • Analyze situations to identify and forecast pertinent problems. Evaluate realistic options and recommend/implement appropriate courses of action. This involves critical thinking and decision-making skills to ensure optimal solutions are reached efficiently.
  • Adhere to and enforce the company’s Health, Safety & Environmental Policy.
  • Ensure that all safety protocols are followed to maintain a safe working environment for all employees and stakeholders.
  • Ensure all work undertaken is within approved scope boundaries and fully compliant with relevant regulations and standards. This includes thorough planning, execution, and monitoring of tasks to meet quality and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate professionally with internal clients, vendors, employees, managers, and supervisors to process and fulfill requests for fleet and fuel cards. Maintain positive working relationships and ensure clear communication and timely delivery of services.
  • Manage and maintain daily records of all maintenance, mileage, vehicle checklists, and accidents. Accurate record-keeping is essential for operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist with coding and approve all invoices for payment related to fuel, rent, lease, maintenance, and repairs for specific sites. Ensure that all financial transactions are accurate, timely, and within budget.
  • Manage and maintain registrations and insurance cards for all vehicles. Ensure that all company vehicles are legally compliant and properly documented.
  • Manage and maintain all vehicle data and movement within internal systems to ensure efficient use of company resources. This includes tracking vehicle usage, optimizing fleet operations, and reporting on key metrics.
  • Analyze and approve repairs of company vehicles based on safety assessments. Utilize DOT guidelines for safety-sensitive sites to ensure that all repairs meet safety standards.
  • Operate company vehicles to conduct business related to fleet activities. This includes transportation for inspections, maintenance, and other fleet-related tasks.
  • Comply with the Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and company policies and procedures. Uphold company values and ethical standards in all actions and decisions.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of professional experience supporting the construction of major projects, preferably in building power stations, supply networks, or other utility-scale construction projects. Demonstrated expertise in project management, construction oversight, and technical coordination.
  • Experience with renewable energy projects is preferred. Knowledge of renewable energy systems and their implementation in large-scale projects is a significant advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to utilize these tools for project planning, data analysis, and communication.
  • Experience with Align/Toolwatch is a plus.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred, enabling effective communication with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience reviewing technical manuals and packages. Ability to interpret technical documents and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Assertive and a team player. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and manage team dynamics.
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines. Ensure all activities are compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently and effectively within time constraints. Ensure accuracy and precision in all tasks.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed for project-related activities. Flexibility to accommodate travel requirements for site inspections, meetings, and other operational needs.

SALARY RANGE FOR POSITION

The anticipated starting pay range of this position, which is to be located in Ankeny, IA is $110,000 - $129,000 base salary per year.

The above-listed salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. The salary range shared in the job description is for the listed position and only pertains to the candidate if they work in Irvine, CA. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to internal pay equity, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, geographic location, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications. An additional discretionary bonus structure or incentives may be offered as part of the overall compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, dental, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
