Overview

The Assistant General Manager will be directly responsible for the operations within the Front of House department at Mack’s Bingo Kitchen. This role is integral to the day to day operations of the restaurant with an emphasis on cultivating a work environment that provides direction and purpose, nurtures growth, and fosters teamwork. The ideal candidate is someone who has a passion for food and beverage, a genuine ability to connect with guests and teammates and is passionate about making this the best work experience they can for others. Your leadership will ensure the restaurant's vibrant culture and operational efficiency, aligning with Farms Work Wonders' broader mission.

This role reports directly to the General Manager.

MUST-HAVES

• Working with youth: Contribute to a welcoming environment where youth can explore their interests while being supported with relationships and opportunities.
• Leadership development: Interest in developing comprehensive leadership skills that extend beyond the dining room floor. Contribute to goal setting, advancing the team culture, managing day-to-day operations, and working to achieve a mission much larger than your average restaurant.
• Food service knowledge/experience: Proficiency in managing a team in potentially high stress environments.
• Curiosity and learning mindset: Ability to take and give constructive feedback.
• Commitment to quality: Uphold the restaurant’s creative vision, through training and exceptional hospitality.
• Collaborative mindset: Work effectively within the restaurant, as well as with other departments.

Key Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Willingness and ability to commute or relocate to Wardensville, WV if necessary.
  
  

WORK SCHEDULE

Full-time, year-round position requiring weekend and holiday availability. This position is expected to work 40 hours per week.

Compensation And Benefits

This is an exempt position with a starting annual salary of $45,000, commensurate with experience. The comprehensive benefits package includes medical and life insurance, a generous paid time off policy, bereavement leave, and discounts at our enterprises.

We have a standard ninety (90) day orientation period that allows you to decide if we meet your expectations and for us to ensure you can perform the job assigned to you. During the orientation period, you may or may not be eligible for certain benefits.

HOUSING

Short-term, limited housing assistance may be available for those relocating for the position.

Farms Work Wonders is a nonprofit social enterprise whose mission is to ignite the spark of curiosity in Appalachian youth so they see themselves and their future in new and exciting ways. We create living classrooms to provide real-life learning experiences and generate proceeds that are 100% reinvested back into the local community. In 2016, Farms Work Wonders started with the Wardensville Garden Market project—an organic farm and farm stand. Since opening, our enterprises have expanded to include a market, bakery, glass blowing studio, and restaurant that have currently created over 100 local, good-paying jobs with many held by local high school students.
