Base pay range
$90,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
- Actively participate in monthly close including:
- Research and prepare variance analysis of monthly/quarterly/annual P&L/BS actuals vs latest forecast, budget, and prior year
- Analyzing elements of gross margin including gross sales, dilution, first cost, freight, duty and PO variances
- Reviewing P&L to ensure entries are properly recorded and P&L accurately represents monthly expenses
- Update weekly cash flow forecast model and prepare variance analysis against forecast
- Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts, challenging assumptions to ensure validity and proactively seeking out opportunities for efficiency and cost savings
- Partner with merchandise planning to develop an inventory forecast and monitor (i) actual inventory receipts (ii) shipments, (iii) open purchase orders and (iii) remaining open to buy against forecast
- Develop and maintain inbound and outbound freight models and partnering with accounting and logistics to explain variances to forecast
- Develop and maintain warehouse expense model and partnering with accounting and logistics to explain variances to forecast
- Prepare financial presentations for internal and external communication of historical and forecasted financial results.
- Perform ad hoc business analyses, summarizing results and recommendations
- Identify ways to streamline existing processes
- Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness
- Assist with the development and improvement of processes, policies, key system improvements and initiatives
- Prepare business KPI’s and scorecards
- Automate and streamline data flows to enable faster and more accurate analysis and reporting
- Bachelors Degree in finance, accounting or related field
- 2-4 years professional experience in Financial Planning & Analysis
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and consumer goods industry
- Strong critical thinking skills and understanding of budgeting, planning and projection processes
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Clear and effective written/verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency in preparing Microsoft PowerPoint presentations
