Aparicio Publishing, a well-respected K–12 content developer, is looking for experienced Senior Editors to create, select, and edit content for print and digital publications. 

In this position, you will:

  • define editorial project roadmaps, workflows, guidelines, and plans. 
  • manage a team of editors and collaborate with other departments as needed (project management, production, design, art, photo and illustration research).
  • perform all core functions of an Editor, including managing freelancers, editing and writing, researching, collaborating with teams, and accurately storing core project documents.
  • train, direct, and mentor team members, and supervise their work on an ongoing basis.
  • work with the Project Managers to create and manage workflows and schedules.
  • consistently demonstrate a well‐developed understanding of the U.S. education market in one of these areas: Dual Language, Bilingual Education, Spanish Language Arts, Spanish Literacy, Biliteracy, World Languages.
  • complete other responsibilities as assigned. 

Requirements:

  • Be bilingual (English/Spanish) and have teaching experience in the US in one of the subject areas listed above.
  • Have a proven track record of defining and leading increasingly complex editorial projects.
  • Be reliable, tech savvy, and strategic.
  • Have advanced communication skills (able to communicate ideas effectively in writing and verbally, in small and large groups, with colleagues at all levels of the organization, and with customers).
  • Possess Bachelor’s degree; MA degree a strong plus.
  • Have 7+ years of editorial experience in educational publishing.
  • Be willing to be a full-time freelance candidate.
  • Must be proficient with Adobe Acrobat, Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Docs (and other Google applications).
