We are seeking a dynamic, dedicated, and experienced Permanent FSQA (Food Safety Quality Assurance) Manager who is bilingual in English and Spanish to join our Quality team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the quality and safety of our food products. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of our FSQA program, including the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of our food safety and quality systems. The FSQA Manager will work closely with our production and engineering teams to guarantee that our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the FSQA system, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as HACCP, PCQI, USDA, FDA, GMP.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure the continuous effectiveness of the FSQA system.
  • Lead the investigation of any food safety or quality issues, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
  • Provide training and support to the team on FSQA matters, promoting a culture of food safety and quality throughout the organization.
  • Work closely with the production and engineering teams to ensure quality and safety standards are met at all stages of the production process.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including customers and regulatory bodies, ensuring the company's reputation for quality and safety is upheld.
  • Ensure all product labels, nutrition facts, and ingredients are in compliance with USDA and FDA regulations.
  • Manage and maintain the company's HACCP and PCQI plans.
  • Communicate effectively in both English and Spanish to relay important information to team members and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a FSQA management role within the food industry.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and quality assurance systems, including HACCP, PCQI, USDA, FDA, GMP.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Certified in Preventive Controls for Human Food (PCQI) and HACCP.
  • Experience in dealing with regulatory bodies such as the USDA and FDA.
  • Ability to travel as needed for plant support, training, and audits.
