Hiring a mid to senior level Full Stack Engineer as we scale our team at Ready and Broadband Money: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced mid-senior level Full Stack Engineer with a strong background in geospatial products to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in the development of cutting-edge geospatial applications, leveraging your expertise in React, PostGIS, and various spatial data technologies. Your ability to transform product requirements into engineering tasks and your familiarity with frontend, backend, and data layers of our technology stack will be instrumental in our success. A Bit About You Proven experience as a Front End Engineer (React JS) with a focus on geospatial products. Familiarity with geospatial libraries such as Mapbox (React MapboxGL) and/or DeckGL (With React) Familiarity with backend API architecture (Node.js) Experience with using Postgres to store, process, and access geospatial data (PostGIS) Understanding of dynamic and static map tiling, as well as raster tiles. Strong coding skills in TypeScript and JavaScript. Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with product teams and clients. Ability to translate product requirements into engineering tasks. Experience with product design is a plus, enhancing your ability to create user-centric geospatial applications. About Your Role At Ready ️ Geospatial Expertise: Leverage your deep expertise in geospatial libraries, particularly ReactMapGL and/or DeckGL, to design and develop visually captivating and interactive maps and spatial data visualizations. Implement geospatial libraries effectively, ensuring seamless integration with the front-end React components to create engaging user experiences. Propose new spatial solutions to the team. Stay updated with the latest advancements in geospatial technologies and integrate relevant innovations into product development. Tile Technology Proficiency: Apply your proficiency in dynamic tiling, static tiling, and raster tiles to optimize the rendering and performance of geospatial applications. Develop strategies to efficiently load and display large geospatial datasets, ensuring smooth user interactions and fast load times. Programming Languages: Demonstrate mastery in TypeScript and JavaScript with React, writing clean, modular, and maintainable code for front-end development. Compose back-end resolvers in Node.js to link front-end maps with geospatial data hosted on PostGIS databases. Collaborate with data engineers to ensure seamless integration of geospatial features and functionality. Utilize best practices in coding, including code quality, performance optimization, and codebase scalability. Effective Communication: Establish strong lines of communication with the product team and clients, actively participating in discussions to understand project requirements and objectives. Translate complex technical concepts into layman's terms, facilitating effective communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders. Provide valuable technical insights, helping stakeholders make informed decisions regarding geospatial product features and functionalities. Product-Engineering Alignment: Bridge the gap between product vision and engineering execution by transforming high-level product needs into well-defined engineering tasks. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and fellow engineers, to prioritize and execute development efforts effectively. Ensure that engineering tasks align with the broader product roadmap, delivering value to users while meeting project deadlines. Product Design Collaboration: If you possess experience in product design, leverage your skills to collaborate seamlessly with designers. Work together to create geospatial products that prioritize user-centered design principles and deliver exceptional user experiences. Participate in design reviews and discussions to provide technical insights into the feasibility and implementation of design concepts.
