Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Fundraising Events Senior Manager to join our dynamic fundraising team. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, creative, and possess exceptional communication skills. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a diverse range of events throughout the year, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience for attendees while aligning with our brand vision to empower young people to transform their lives.

This position works directly with The King’s Trust USA but has a significant interaction with all The King’s Trust charities around the world.

This role will report to the Director of Events and Corporate Partnerships in the United States.


What will you do?

  • Responsible for managing all facets of designated King’s Trust USA fundraising events as the Fundraising Event lead, including but not limited to Sponsorship sales, auction generation, budget management, supplier negotiation, database oversight, Salesforce integration, and donor stewardship.
  • Manages and develops new event concepts and executes event goals to increase revenue for existing events.
  • Overall responsibility for designated event revenue growth.
  • Oversee development and delivery of, at times, complex fundraising events.
  • Take the helm to work independently as the team leader for certain events, offering guidance and direction to team members.
  • Develop and manage overall event execution from inception through completion, while demonstrating independence and resourcefulness throughout the process.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with stakeholders by partnering on event objectives and strategy and setting event management timelines.
  • Arrive in the role with leveraging existing strong industry relationships with vendors (Venues, AV, F&B, florists, décor, etc.) while always keeping abreast of new offerings in the market.
  • Negotiate and review vendor contracts and fees and circulate to senior management for approval.
  • Own all event budgets, adhere to financial deadlines, and reconcile budgets post-event.
  • Source and secure silent and live auction items for fundraising events.
  • Oversee all event collateral including sponsorship decks, save the dates, invitations, programs etc.
  • Manage events through Salesforce CRM including running reports, manage lists, track RSVPs, update biographies, attendance, follow ups and ensuring that all guest data is clean and up to date.
  • Develop and manage event timelines, communicating deadlines and assignments to key stakeholders, as necessary.
  • Create post event debrief reports to highlight ROI, attendance, and client feedback to enhance the following year’s events.
  • Work closely with the communications team to deliver the agreed strategic approach to event themes, onsite branding, messaging, social media plans and post event communications.
  • Utilize status reports and work back plans to keep track of key milestones during the planning process.
  • Proactively introduce tools and processes to push the events planning to greater heights.
  • Other duties as assigned to fully meet with requirements of the position.


What do you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor’s Degree - CMP is preferred, but not required.
  • 6+ years’ experience in planning charity fundraising events.
  • Organizational Skills: Comprehensive organizational abilities, project management and time management skills to manage multiple tasks and details efficiently. Demonstrate a deep understanding of fundraising events. Proven ability to plan, manage and execute multiple events simultaneously. Advanced Excel skills are a bonus.
  • Creativity: Ability to brainstorm and implement innovative event concepts aligned with our brand.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with internal and external partners, senior leadership, vendors, and attendees. Calm presence, strong voice, ability to operate in high-stress situations.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to manage conflicting priorities and challenging personalities and the ability to adapt to changes during events.
  • Budgeting: Proficiency in budget planning and management, ensuring events are cost-effective and meet/exceed agreed ROI.
  • Negotiation Skills: Experience in successfully negotiating contracts and agreements with vendors and suppliers.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.
  • Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours, as required.
  • Ability to travel, as required.


Additional

  • The role is to be in our New York City based office at least four (4) days a week with flexibility over the summer and holiday periods. Ability to travel within the U.S. is essential.
  • This position reports directly to the Director of Events and Corporate Partnerships and necessitates a commitment to adhering to company policies outlined in the employee manual and internal communications.
