GENERAL SUPERINTENDENT

Job Title: General Superintendent – Buildings Construction Projects

Location: Brownsville, Texas

Burrow Global, LLC seeks an experienced and dynamic General Superintendent to oversee our major multi-building construction project in Brownsville, Texas. As a key leader in our design-build operations, you will ensure the successful execution of projects from initiation to completion, maintaining our high safety, quality, and efficiency standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects of on-site construction activities.
• Oversee an onsite team of 7+ superintendents, each overseeing a building construction project.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for on-site activities, coordinating efforts across teams and subcontractors.
• Oversee daily operations and ensure adherence to project schedules.
• Manage labor, equipment, and materials to optimize productivity and efficiency.
• Ensure the site is compliant with safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Oversee a Site Safety Manager with a team of 2+ safety technicians.
• Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to meet or exceed project specifications.
• Oversee a Site Quality Manager with a team of 2+ quality technicians.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and resolve issues promptly.
• Monitor project budgets, control costs, and manage resources effectively with offsite project managers.
• Review and approve expenditures and contractor payments in conjunction with offsite project managers.
• Enforce safety protocols and lead initiatives to foster a culture of safety.
• Ensure safety meetings, training sessions, and site inspections are performed by appropriate staff and within company and client compliance.
• Direct and mentor site personnel, including supervisors and subcontractors.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration among team members to address challenges and achieve project milestones.
• Maintain positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and local authorities.
• Facilitate regular meetings for the Burrow Global team, client management, and subcontractors.
• Provide regular updates and reports to clients and company leadership.
• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Resolve on-site issues quickly to minimize impact on project progress.
• Ensure accurate documentation of project progress, safety records, and quality reports.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Regularly update project master schedule and focused lookahead schedules for each building.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role on large-scale buildings projects.
• Proven track record of successfully completing commercial or industrial buildings construction projects.
• Experience overseeing a team of construction superintendents is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Additional certifications such as OSHA, PMP, or relevant trade licenses are a plus.
• OSHA 30 safety certification is required but can be provided if not already held.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency in construction management software and tools, including Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Procore & Bluebeam is a plus.
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Practical communication skills, both written and verbal.
