Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Superintendent to oversee and manage all aspects of multifamily construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading construction teams, ensuring project timelines and budgets are met, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Oversee all phases of construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage construction teams, including subcontractors and site personnel. Foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules. Coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure construction work meets or exceeds industry standards and client expectations.
  • Safety: Ensure all construction activities comply with safety regulations and company policies. Promote a culture of safety on all job sites.
  • Budget Management: Monitor project budgets and expenses. Identify cost-saving opportunities and address any financial discrepancies.
  • Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients. Maintain strong relationships and address any concerns or issues promptly.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular project updates, progress reports, and forecasts to senior management and clients.

The Successful Applicant

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in a superintendent role overseeing multifamily residential projects.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in construction management software and tools (e.g., Procore, MS Project). Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate construction teams. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as OSHA, LEED, or PMP are a plus.
