We provide impartial, expert advice to large and mid-sized corporations, private equity firms, families and entrepreneurs, and governments. Overview Of Role

Within our Global Advisory division, Debt Advisory and Restructuring Vice Presidents will work on a broad spectrum of Restructuring transactions.

Specific to restructuring, the role will include working on in-court / out-of-court transactions, domestic US / cross-border / international transactions, and advising debtors as well as creditors. Our restructuring transactions cover a diverse variety of industries and a broad range of transaction sizes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive financial analysis, including financial modelling, valuation and benchmarking to assess the financial health and viability of distressed companies
  • Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of capital structure alternatives, including an understanding of governing legal documentation (bond indentures and credit agreements)
  • Participate in restructuring and debt documentation negotiations
  • Coordinate complex transactions across a variety of stakeholders (clients, legal counsel, creditors and other third parties, etc.)
  • Screen distressed opportunities and collaborate with industry coverage teams
  • Track market developments and transactions
  • Assist in the development of marketing materials and client presentations
  • Collaborate with senior team members to develop strategies and solutions tailored to meet clients’ specific needs


Education And Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (strong GPA from top academic institution)
  • MBA degree preferred, but not required
  • Prior restructuring, debt advisory or leveraged finance experience at an investment bank, credit fund or turnaround advisory firm preferred


Experience, Skills And Competencies Required

  • The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of professional work experience with a minimum of 3-4 years within a top tier corporate finance adviser/investment bank with prior execution experience
  • Prior restructuring, debt advisory or leveraged finance experience at an investment bank, credit fund or turnaround advisory firm preferred
  • Experience in leveraged finance and/or bankruptcies, balance sheet restructurings, liability management transactions, and distressed debt situations preferred
  • Strong quantitative ability and analytical skills with knowledge of corporate finance, financial accounting and bankruptcy procedures
  • Financial modeling and valuation experience using DCF analysis and public debt, equity and transaction comparables preferred
  • Desire to work across industries, learning the businesses of multiple clients in different lines of business
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a readiness to work effectively in cross-border and domestic teams
  • Polished and professional writing skills required
  • Ability to independently organize and manage junior bankers and deal teams
  • Ability to develop long-term, professional client relationships
  • Ability to confidently communicate work product with all team members internally and externally


Expected base salary rates for this role in our New York Office will be between $250,000 and $275,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, salary offers are determined on an individualized basis and are based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience and education. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and our Rothschild & Co employee benefits package, successful candidates may be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
