Global Inventory Planner

Assouline Publishing is seeking a Global Inventory Planner (SIOP) to lead sales-trend and inventory analysis and reporting to drive business performance. This role requires cross-functional collaboration to ensure demand, inventory, and revenue expectations are balanced and achievable. This role will be responsible for aligning demand forecasts for Wholesale, Retail and E-Retail Commercial Channels with the company’s long-term strategic goals.

The luxury book publisher, founded by Prosper and Martine Assouline, has published over 1,500 titles across international markets on subjects including architecture, art, design, fashion, gastronomy, lifestyle, photography, and travel.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

· Own and maintain SKU forecast modeling and implement adoption into ERP.

· Produce thorough analysis of SKU level data including product family trends, new product performance, top sellers while managing forward-looking projections with inventory levels.

· Collaborate with commercial teams, production, operations, and marketing to align on delivery schedules and sales forecasts and provide regional allocation recommendations.

· Develop and implement global allocation strategy for warehouses and retail locations.

· Partner with commercial and team to facilitate ease of special-order requests and client event planning.

· Provide recommendations on necessary actions when stock outs occur and develop analytics to help mitigate these in the future.

· Report regularly on sales variance to forecasts and inventory KPIs to senior management.

· Work closely with the Operations and Commercial teams to develop and improve analyses and reporting.

· Complete specific ad hoc analysis upon request.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

· At least 5 years of experience in commercial demand planning (sales, inventory and operations planning), experience in Perfumes & Cosmetics industry a plus.

· Experience and comfortable with large datasets and database management.

· Ability to understand different systems and related data flow.

· Proficient in Excel.

· Familiarity with NetSuite is strongly preferred.

· Process-oriented and strategic mindset with the ability to examine data, identify trends and recommend proactive solutions.

· Ability to adeptly manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail.

· Comfortable communicating regularly with peers and management and understands the need for visibility.

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

The appointed candidate will be offered a salary within the range of $85,000-$100000 annually. Please note that the foregoing compensation information is a good-faith assessment associated with this position only and is provided pursuant to the New York City Salary Transparency Law.
