The Supplier Quality Manager (SQM) is responsible for supplier quality strategy, process and system implementation and execution, strategic supplier partnering, supplier performance monitoring and communication, supplier risk management and improvement. The SQM may perform regular supplier audits, actively participate in strategic development based on quality control plans, and, collaborate with ILC teams to facilitate client/supplier relations. The SQM may lead a small team of supplier quality engineers.
Essential Job Functions:
Design, develop, and implement strategies and processes to partner with suppliers to ensure quality and surety of supply of incoming materials
Implement requirements of the SQM program regarding preventative actions, qualification audits, and scorecards to measure performance
Ensure successful internal processes are in place and optimized to manage supplier performance and risk, such as APQP, PPAP, supplier approval and monitoring.
Perform risk assessments of current and potential new suppliers as part of the management program
Analyzes defect trends and leads improvement projects to investigate and resolve supplier issues to ensure consistent and compliant supply of materials
Develop and communicate effective metrics and KPIs to ensure supplier performance and feedback.
Partner with supply chain, engineering and operations groups to support supplier development, remediation or improvement activities.
Provide leadership to the supplier quality team to provide continuous improvement and effective supplier quality oversight and management
Strategically lead supplier performance improvement projects in an effort to increase the supplier capability of consistently meeting ILC Dover requirements. Projects may include: process analysis, value stream mapping, process capability and throughput analysis, 6‐Sigma, 5S and Kaizen events
Executes supplier quality agreements across the organization, interacting frequently with senior leadership from procurement, legal, regulatory, etc.
Drive “Zero Defect” mentality within the supply base

Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Quality Management or other STEM field of study required.
8 years in a Supplier Quality Management or related role required. Experience leading others required.
Demonstrated knowledge of QMS, e.g., 8D; Lean; 5 Whys; Pareto Analysis; Six Sigma; DFMEA, PFEMA, PPAP, etc.
Demonstrated proficiency with problem solving and organizational skills
Project Management experience is preferred
Must be willing and able to travel 40% of the time; some international travel to China, India, Mexico, Europe (passport required)
