Global Supply Manager, Energy Infrastructure

(Onsite role - Phoenix, AZ)

We are actively looking for a highly talented Global Supply Manager to join the Nikola Supply Chain team to support the Nikola Energy Infrastructure business. In this role, you will work with cross functional teams to support all activities related to the procurement of equipment and services required for Nikola Energy Technology, Energy Supply, Power Solutions, Station Infrastructure, and related areas. In this key role you will steer the sourcing, costing, negotiating, commodity management and strategic planning functions for the Energy and Commercial side of the house. You will be pivotal in building strong supplier relationships that offer the best value to Nikola to achieve the Business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Help establish and manage Nikola’s Supply base to ensure the best Suppliers are selected to support all development, prototyping, and production activity
  • Lead all RFP/RFQ activities for your respective area and clearly communicate Nikola’s expectations
  • Lead all contractual discussions with suppliers (Supply Agreements/NDAs/Terms and conditions/SOWs)
  • Analyze supplier proposals and negotiate all aspects of the quotation to drive down the total cost of ownership and ensure world class pricing
  • Monitor supplier performance and take necessary steps to address gaps and resolves issues
  • Recommend and effectively present status, sourcing and spend discussions to leadership, for multiple programs that meet the business objectives and timelines
  • Build relationships across multiple teams (Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality) and work across different levels in the organization to ensure program timelines are achieved
  • Monitor current category market conditions, technology roadmaps and identify supply/demand challenges & opportunities
  • Support the efforts of supplier quality team for supplier development, qualification, and quality issue resolution.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance or Engineering is required (a master’s degree is a plus)

A basic understanding of international shipping and its regulations.

A basic understanding of the difference between the USA and European engineering standards.

New Product Introduction experience is a plus

10 years of Experience working in Energy Infrastructure, Commercial Vehicle, or an Electric Vehicle Start-up is a plus

Ability for Global Travel as needed - 25%
