Group Leader, Production
3rd Shift Position: 11 PM - 7:30 AM
Job Summary
The Group Leader supports the Supervisor, Production in all functions of the Operations’ agenda, to ensure the daily production plan is being followed by the priorities established by the Master Scheduler and to ensure all production personnel are performing in a manner consistent with the safety, quality and production guidelines established by the Company. The incumbent spends twenty to sixty percent of her/his time performing production tasks similar to those of other team members, and usually does troubleshooting, minor equipment maintenance or setup, etc. He/she coordinates the work of a designated team of production workers, trains team members, and may contribute to the performance appraisal process.

Essential Job Functions
- Follows the daily production schedule by priority.
- Prepares the daily schedule at the start of the shift Monitors the production performance against established goals.
- Ensures operators and packers are being utilized efficiently.
- Schedules all production line assignments.
- Ensures compliance to proper changeover procedures.
- Oversees the completion of urgent stock requests and special handling orders.
- Follows-up on production line status and availability with maintenance, Quality Assurance and the Stock Handler.
- Ensures compliance of established Company guidelines and policies (i.e., cGMP, Safety, etc.).
- Ensures that established Company quality standards are being followed by all production personnel.
- Keeps Supervisor, Production abreast of pertinent workplace issues.
- Trains/certifies the Operators and Agency personnel on required procedures.
- Trains, develops, and supports the Assistant Group Leader.
- Assumes the duties of the Assistant Group Leader in his/her absence.
- Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be required by the Supervisor, Production.
- Function as a team-builder and coach for staff working in a very collaborative environment.

- Supports the Winner’s Circle and Blistex Quality System processes.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- The knowledge and skills required for this position are typically acquired in 3 to 4 years of experience in a production environment.
- Must have comprehensive understanding of GMP, OSHA, FDA, and other related guidelines and be able to apply to the work environment.
- Must have familiarity with all production equipment.
- Must possess good mathematical aptitude (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
- Must be able to convert pounds, ounces, kilos, grams, and other liquid measurements.
- Must be able to read and write business English (spelling, grammar and punctuation, etc.).
- Must possess good oral and written communication skills.
- Considerable interpersonal skills are required to interact with internal customers.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Must be computer literate in a Windows environment (e.g., Word, Excel, and basic data entry).
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines on a multitude of concurrent tasks.
- Must possess good organizational ability.
- Must possess basic mechanical aptitude, to assist mechanics in the identification of any problems.
- Willingness to accept other duties, as assigned.
