The Space Needle, one of the most photographed and recognized structures in the world, is seeking a dynamic and experienced supervisor to lead our Photography Team. Located in the heart of the city, the Space Needle offers breathtaking views, thrilling experiences, and unparalleled Guest service to visitors from around the world. As a key member of our Team, you will have the opportunity to shape the photography experience for our Guests and help transform moments into memories of a lifetime.


JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • We are seeking a talented supervisor to work with operations managers to lead our Photography Team and enhance the Guest experience through capturing moments and memories of their visit.
  • The ideal candidate will have a passion for photography, exceptional leadership skills, and a keen eye for detail.
  • You will oversee all aspects of the photography operation, including scheduling, managing photography equipment, Guest interactions, and photo quality assurance.
  • You will work closely with our operations, IT, and marketing teams to ensure that our photography services are engaging, operational, and align with the overall brand vision and contribute to the overall Guest experience.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Team Leadership

  • Recruit, train, and supervise a Team of photographers.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages creativity and excellence.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to Team Members to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Manage scheduling, performance evaluations, and other administrative tasks related to team management.


Guest Experience

  • Motivate and manage the Team to help ensure that every Guest receives exceptional service and enjoys a memorable photography experience.
  • Engage with Guests to promote photography services and answer any questions they may have.
  • Handle Guest concerns or complaints with professionalism and empathy, seeking resolution to maintain Guest satisfaction.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the Guest experience and exceed expectations.


Operations Oversight

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the photography department, including scheduling, reporting, and payroll administration.
  • Collaborate with Operations, IT, and Marketing to ensure ongoing enhancements to the photo experiences.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for staff and Guests.


Quality Assurance

  • Monitor the quality of photographs and ensure that they meet the highest standards of excellence.
  • Conduct regular audits of photography services and digital experience stations to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement best practices and quality control measures to optimize the photography process and deliver exceptional results.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements to incorporate innovative techniques into our photography services.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Previous supervisory or management experience in a hospitality, retail, or photography environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with Guests and Team Members.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in photography software and equipment, including DSLR cameras, photo editing software, and reporting software (Office products).
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to walk, stand, reach, and lift 25 pounds, use manual dexterity the entire shift, see near, close, and far while adjusting focus, work in confined spaces, at elevated heights, multi-task and prioritize. A typical shift is 8 hours.


Full Time, Hourly Position

Hourly Rate: $25.50 - $30.00 / hour DOE

  • Paid Time Off of 14 days / year based on working 2080 hours / year
  • Tuition reimbursement of 50%, up to $2500 / year

  • 25% discount for many purchases at the Space Needle (Retail, Food and Beverage, not applied towards alcohol purchases)
  • Charitable Contributions / Matching Gift, up to $200 year
  • $165 / month towards parking / orca card
