Base pay range

$175,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr
  • This position is onsite at our New Rochelle office.

Position Purpose

The Head of Accounting will be responsible for managing in areas of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, accounts payable, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. The Head of Accounting’s initial focus will be to work on underlying internal controls and financial workflows to improve and enhance efficiencies and operations.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Preparing and consolidating monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports.
  • Oversee the development and evaluation of budgets and preparing budget reports.
  • Supporting the formulation, implementation, and strengthening of control systems within the organization.
  • Overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, identifying discrepancies, and reconciling accounts.
  • Supporting the accounting department with all aspects of the general ledger.
  • Ensuring all accounting practices are in compliance with legal guidelines and regulations and established accounting principles.
  • Preparing and managing accounts using various software programs.
  • Preparing and assisting with audits.
  • Manage billing and tax documentation preparation
  • Working with the company financial team to create internal controls and policies
  • Collaborating with the IT department to maintain financial records and system processes
  • Identifying solutions to discrepancies in financial records

Job Requirements/Skills And Experience

  • Degree in accounting, finance, or in a related field.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Previous experience as CFO, Controller or in a similar role.
  • Professional certification such as CPA, CFM, or CMA preferred.
  • Excellent understanding of GAAP and relevant financial accounting regulations.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of accounting software programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • System and processes experience
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong project management skills.
  • Excellent math and accounting skills.
  • Strong supervisory and management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with the highest levels of integrity.

Salary Range: $175,000 - $200,000

  • The base salary range represents the low and high end of the expected salary range for the position. The base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors such as geographic location, experience, education, and skill level.
