Position: Head of Engineering/CTO

Location: Austin, TX

As the Head of Engineering, you will be a key member of the executive team, responsible for driving the technical vision, strategy, and execution of our product development. You will lead and inspire a high-performing engineering team, ensuring the delivery of robust, scalable, and innovative solutions. This role requires a hands-on leader with a passion for technology, exceptional leadership skills, and a strong background in software development and engineering management.

This is a full-time position based in our headquarters in Austin, TX and will require commuting to the office.

Key Responsibilities:

Immediate Responsibilities:

• API and Data Infrastructure: Design APIs and data models that integrate raw data from multiple sources into consistent formats.
• Data Management: Develop infrastructure for extracting, transforming, and loading data from various sources using SQL and GCP technologies.
• Process Improvement: Automate manual processes, optimize data delivery, and redesign infrastructure to enhance scalability and reduce technical debt.
• Analytics Tools: Create tools that provide insights into customer acquisition and operational efficiency using data from various platforms.
  
  

Eventual Responsibilities:

• Data Set Assembly: Build complex data sets tailored to business requirements in the decentralized wireless/telecom vertical.
• Scalable Architecture Development: Design architectures for scalable data extraction and transformation supporting predictive and prescriptive modeling.
  
  

Leadership and Strategy:

• Engineering Strategy: Develop and implement the engineering strategy aligned with the company's vision and goals.
• Team Leadership: Guide and inspire the engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Executive Collaboration: Work with the CEO and executive team to define product roadmaps and prioritize initiatives.

• Talent Acquisition: Recruit and mentor a top-tier engineering team, ensuring the right skill mix for current and future needs.
• Performance Management: Establish a high-performance culture with clear goals, feedback, and growth opportunities.
  
  

Product Development:

• Mobile Development: Oversee the development of mobile solutions for iOS and Android platforms.
• Go Programming: Leverage Go for building robust, scalable backend systems.
• APIs and Data Infrastructure: Design APIs and data models to integrate diverse data sources efficiently.
  
  

Innovation and R&D:

• Technical Innovation: Drive innovation by exploring new technologies and methodologies to stay ahead in the telecom industry.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with other departments to identify and evaluate new product opportunities.
  
  

Technical Operations:

• Infrastructure Management: Ensure reliable, scalable, and secure technical infrastructure.
• Process Standardization: Maintain robust engineering processes and documentation.
