About Us

We're on a mission to create a food-secure Africa, and we need a Head of Communications & Social Media to help us share our impactful story with audiences in the US and around the globe. We are a nonprofit social enterprise dedicated to lifting millions of people in Sub-Saharan Africa out of poverty through innovative and sustainable solutions. Our focus is on empowering farmers with affordable irrigation technologies that support year-round farming. Headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, and active in 17 countries, we've already helped over 1.5 million people improve their livelihoods and provide food security to more than 15 million people daily.

Your Role

Role

As our Head of Communications & Social Media, you’ll be at the heart of how the world connects with our mission. You'll spearhead our communications strategy, craft engaging content, and ensure that our mission resonates with global audiences. Your role will involve:

  • Digital Engagement: Develop and implement a data-driven digital advertising strategy to enhance our reach. Manage our digital presence with engaging content that connects with diverse audiences across various platforms.
  • Fundraising Communication: Partner with our Fundraising team to align communications with donor engagement goals. Craft targeted appeals for donors that strengthen relationships and drive long-term support.
  • Media Relations: Build and nurture relationships with journalists, influencers, and media outlets. Secure coverage that highlights the powerful stories of our farmers and the positive changes they're making. Develop press materials and media releases.
  • Collaboration and Learning: Work closely with our teams in Sub-Saharan Africa to gather authentic stories and data. Stay open to learning and understanding the real experiences of our farmers to ensure our communications are accurate and impactful.

Who You Are
