Job Description

Position Overview: The Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all

health, safety, and environmental policies and programs for our grid-scale wind or solar projects. This role requires an expert in HSE

management within the renewable energy sector, with extensive experience in large-scale wind or solar construction projects. The HSE Manager

will ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and foster a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities

  • HSE Program Development: Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive HSE management systems and policies tailored to grid-scale wind or solar projects.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all project activities comply with local, state, and federal HSE regulations and industry standards.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Training and Education: Develop and deliver HSE training programs for employees, contractors, and stakeholders to promote a strong safety culture.
  • Incident Management: Lead investigations of accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Safety Audits and Inspections: Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with HSE policies and identify areas for improvement.
  • Environmental Protection: Oversee environmental management practices to minimize the impact of construction activities on the environment.
  • Emergency Response: Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures, ensuring readiness for any potential incidents.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of HSE performance, incidents, inspections, and training activities.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, regulatory agencies, and community representatives to address HSE concerns.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement in HSE practices and performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in HSE management, with a focus on grid-scale wind or solar projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices specific to the renewable energy sector.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing effective HSE management systems.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in HSE management software and tools.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar certification is a plus.
