Job Description
Position Overview: The Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all
health, safety, and environmental policies and programs for our grid-scale wind or solar projects. This role requires an expert in HSE
management within the renewable energy sector, with extensive experience in large-scale wind or solar construction projects. The HSE Manager
will ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and foster a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
Key Responsibilities
HSE Program Development: Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive HSE management systems and policies tailored to grid-scale wind or solar projects.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all project activities comply with local, state, and federal HSE regulations and industry standards.
Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
Training and Education: Develop and deliver HSE training programs for employees, contractors, and stakeholders to promote a strong safety culture.
Incident Management: Lead investigations of accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Safety Audits and Inspections: Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with HSE policies and identify areas for improvement.
Environmental Protection: Oversee environmental management practices to minimize the impact of construction activities on the environment.
Emergency Response: Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures, ensuring readiness for any potential incidents.
Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of HSE performance, incidents, inspections, and training activities.
Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, regulatory agencies, and community representatives to address HSE concerns.
Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement in HSE practices and performance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in HSE management, with a focus on grid-scale wind or solar projects.
In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices specific to the renewable energy sector.
Proven track record in developing and implementing effective HSE management systems.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in HSE management software and tools.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar certification is a plus.
