Position:
Health Plan Product Strategist

Position Summary:
Leverages business acumen in combination with data-driven insights to build benefit and expansion strategy for the Essence Healthcare Medicare Advantage health plan. Supports executive team with strategic projects. This role has significant visibility and will be viewed as a key leader in the health plan division. Reporting directly to the Health Plan CFO, this role acts as a collaborative leader among cross-functional teams, including healthcare economics, actuary, finance, growth, marketing, and network. This role has the opportunity to support the Lumeris Leadership Team broadly by coordinating executive team initiatives, including quarterly meetings and materials delivered to the Board of Directors.

Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities

  • Impacts Medicare Advantage Annual Bid Strategy, including analyzing and monitoring trends in the MA space (competitor performance, benefit trends, beneficiary trends, growth trends).
  • Partners in formulating the company's future financial direction and supporting tactical initiatives that support net enrollment growth and retention.
  • Supports cross-functional projects, working with the management team to execute complex, high-priority strategic initiatives.
  • Influences strategy development through market research, analytical frameworks, scenario analysis, business case development, etc.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of key concepts, trends, and practices in the insurance industry, business, products, programs (including provider data, networks, etc.), corporate organizational structure (including functional responsibilities), and research methodologies.
  • Supports due diligence activities on expansion targets by working in conjunction with a variety of groups for each area of business expertise.
  • Supports management of external vendor relationships related to health plan benefits.
  • Initiates and maintains effective channels of communication with matrix partners.
  • Performs other duties inherent to the position, as requested by leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or similar
  • 10+ years of experience in healthcare or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role
  • 5+ years of people, project, or program leadership experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role
  • 5+ years of experience related to Medicare Advantage, including previous exposure to benefit planning and growth strategy
  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills, including data visualization. Ability to obtain buy-in from critical partners including prioritization, business case development, and funding requirements
  • Excellent strategic thinking, planning, data analysis, and execution skills
  • Excellent ability to foster and leverage strong relationships, remove barriers, and work cross-functionally to achieve goals
  • Experience managing large-scale programs and initiatives, with demonstrated success in leading management initiatives
  • Willingness to take on ad-hoc projects in a dynamic, fast-paced, growth-oriented role
  • Ability to travel as requested (up to 25%); willingness to work Central time zone hours from any remote location

Preferred:

  • Masters or MBA
  • Experience in Finance
  • Experience in Health Plan Management

The hiring range for this position is:

$113,800.00-$154,525.00
